A Little Help Celebrating the Episcopal Season of Creation
Saturday, September 30 9:00a.m. to 10:00a.m.

We are thrilled to announce that Rick Williams, member of the People of the Sacred Land nonprofit, will be joining us at Christ the King to speak about the history of American Indians in Colorado, with a particular focus on Arvada. Rick is a respected expert in this field, and his knowledge and passion on the subject are truly captivating.

We have asked Rick to help us honor and celebrate the Episcopal Season of Creation by sharing stories, anecdotes, insights, and the unique perspective American Indians have in understanding and appreciating the world around us, physically and spiritually. During this hour-long session, Rick will delve into the spiritual relationship that American Indians have with nature, highlighting their deep connection with the land and all living beings.

Furthermore, Rick will share his personal journey as a member of the Oglala Lakota and Northern Cheyenne tribes. By sharing his own story, he will provide a heartfelt glimpse into the challenges, triumphs, and ongoing struggles that American Indians have faced
for centuries.

It is important to note that Rick is not seeking any financial compensation for his expertise and insights. Instead, he is kindly asking for donations to his nonprofit organization, People of the Sacred Land. The funds donated will directly support initiatives that aim to preserve and honor the rich cultural heritage of American Indians, as well as to address the many challenges they continue to face today.

We encourage all members of the Christ the King community and beyond to attend this significant event. Together, we can learn about and acknowledge the rich history of American Indians in Colorado and their spiritual connection with the earth, our island home, while supporting Rick's worthy cause. This compelling presentation will take place on Saturday, September 30, from 9:00a.m. to 10:00a.m.

Let us come together to listen, learn, and show our solidarity with the American Indian community in their ongoing journey towards justice, recognition, and respect.
